I'll keep this as short as I can, I'm a long time 01v user with 1000's of gigs on my main 01v. I bought an 01v96 last year that had very minor water damage to the encoder wheel and enter button. I ordered the whole PCB and replaced it with no issues.
When end I reassembled the 01v96 I damaged the ribbon cable for the video screen. Rather than buy the part and replace it I took it to Morgan sound (authorized repair) and had them replace it and do a check on the functions. They replaced it but all 17 faders won't calibrate at all!
They spent ent several hours working on it but eventually said there wasn't anything they could do short of replacing all the faders and that's about a $900 job. I called yamaha service and they said the same thing. I'm run in out of options here and if it really is the faders then I'll replace them myself (did a few in an 01v last year) but I'd really rather not, I'd rather replace the entire PC board.
any input would be appreciated. I know I'm a first time poster but I really would like this board to be a replacement gigging board to the older 01v I have now. thanx pete

Hello Pete,
There is a built in fader calibration function on the O1v, not sure if you've tried it. Hold Enter during power up to select Fader Calibration. But if that's not doing it, there is probably something more along the lines of worn out faders. This is something I, and many other folks deal with on occasion. I just had several faders replaced on my #2 board, and the whole fader assembly on my #1 about 2 years ago. When I last had the fader assembly replaced it was around $500, so it must have gone up. Also, consider calling LSC service department if you need faders replaced.

Thanks for the info. Sweet water will sell me the whole board for $633. I found it elsewhere for about $515. 17 faders at a cost of $26 is about $400. Considering I won't have to desolder 17x5 connections I'll take it. So I think I'm going to order the whole board, I may replace 1 fader first and see if I can get it to work.
As is the board just won't calibrate at all. Digitally +10db is about -3 or so on every fader IRL. I'm guessing corrosion so out they go. And when it's all done I could have bout a new one with the bad money I've poured into it.
Or I could stop and sell it for parts. Which the only parts anyone would want are the faders....

Thought I'd update everyone on the mixer.
I bought a 2nd 01v96 in the summer, upgraded both firmware to the most current one. Then I took them both apart side by side and started swapping parts (top halves, then fader banks). Basically it was the circuit board for the faders. So I ordered he whole board and installed it. Works really well though they aren't as quick as the newer board is. Still it's been rock solid for about 7 months now, I've got an my8at card in it (and my16at) in the newer one, all is good.
