Hi, my first post here. This is a duplicate question that I posted on the JWSound forum, but thought I'd post it here too and say hi. My mixer and card won't arrive here in Hawaii for a couple of weeks, but the burning question on my mind is will the AES96S card accept 32KHz as an input sampling rate (Zaxcom)? The manuals and tech specs mention that the card supports a sampling rate of 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96, but of course that is simply the system sampling rate, and eventual output rate, not the range of acceptable inputs.
Thanks,
Tom Visser Honolulu, HI

32kHz input sample rate? From what may I ask? Answering my own question here. Apparently the Zaxcom QRX 4 channel receivers AES output is a lower sample rate of 32kHz. I'm sure there are reasons why Zax has created this miss match, but it really puts a limit on what you can directly connect via AES...unless of course you have a DEVA or Fusion. I'm a DEVA owner, in fact multiple DEVA recorders. I've always been very happy with them and still think the interface is the easiest and quickest to navigate of all the recorders out there. But sometimes Zaxcom makes me scratch my head and ask...why did you do that? What recorder are you planning to use Tom? PWP

Wow. 32K? Really? Just wow. Hope they have some good luck out on their 32K island of obscurity out there. If the 01V had the ability to do a SRC I suppose it would work. Otherwise it sounds like it may be rife with problems. I thought the QRX was originally designed to send AES to cameras? The cameras can't be set up for 32K can they?
